As many readers will know, Joe Rollin, Unite Community’s previous Regional Co-ordinator for the North East, Yorkshire & Humberside has now moved to a new job within Unite. His replacement, John Coan, started work this week. Many thanks to Joe for doing such an excellent job, and congratulations and a warm welcome to John.
In a recent statement to all members of Unite Community within the region, John wrote: ‘I have moved down from Scotland, where I was active in the Glasgow Community Branch. I am from West Yorkshire originally and am relishing the prospect of returning to my roots and working with a fantastic group of activists across Yorkshire and the North East.’
John says that he plans to visit all branches in the region in the near future: ‘I will be attending the upcoming branch meetings where I’ll hopefully meet many of you face to face…‘In the meantime’ John says,’ I will be running the Unite Community stall at the Leeds March for the NHS this Saturday, 28th March at 11:30am starting at Leeds City Art Gallery. I will also be at the Freedom Riders event in Barnsley on Tuesday 31st March.’
We look forward to meeting John and working with him. All best wishes to John.
