Unite Community has received the following letter from Campaign Bootcamp which is asking for applications for their next training course. If you’re interested, you need to be quick as applications close on 17th August. Sounds good.
Dear Unite the Union – Leeds Community Branch,
I’m contacting you about something that I think you and your network would be really interested in. We have an amazing opportunity for the next generation of campaigners to attend Campaign Bootcamp on fully-funded scholarships. Campaign Bootcamp is for people who want to learn how to create real change in the world. Applications are currently open for our next training course, but they close in just ten days on the 17th of August! Do you know anyone who might be interested (maybe it’s you?!)
If it’s not you, but you know people who might be great for this opportunity, can you let them know by forwarding on this email or tweeting out, tagging @campaigncamp?
All the info you need and the form to apply is here: http://www.campaignbootcamp.org/apply
Bootcamp starts with a one week residential training, and is followed up with mentoring, community support and four further training days, spread across the following year. People come to Bootcamp from all backgrounds. We welcome volunteers, student activists, community organisers, bloggers, professional campaigners or simply people with a passion for change, searching for a place to begin their journey. The week-long residential is in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, from 18th to 23rd October 2015, in a fully-accessible beautiful house in the dales.
We are really excited to be offering scholarships from the following charities and organisations:
Greenpeace and LUSH: for grassroots campaigners working on environmental, human rights and climate change related issues
Susan Cook: for disabled campaigners working on social justice, disability, and equality issues
Mental Health: for campaigners who have experience of mental health conditions
Trust for London: for campaigners tackling poverty and inequality
Uprising: for Graduates of the Uprising programme
OPEN: for new members of the Online Progressive Engagement Network
Mailchimp: for refugees, asylum seekers and migrants to the UK
Shami Chakrabarti: for campaigners who identify as Black and Minority Ethnicity
Care2: for campaigners who have started a petition on the Care2 website.
We really feel that this is so relevant to Unite the Union – Leeds Community Branch, and possibly also your networks and collaborators, and we’d love it if you could help us spread the word.
Applications will close in just ten days on Monday 17th August at 9.00am. Everything an applicant needs to know is here. They would need to click on: “Apply for a scholarship”, then in the application form, tick all the relevant scholarships they feel are relevant to them and/or their work and interests.
Thanks so much for helping us get the word out, and if you have any questions at all, please do hit reply and I’d be really happy to chat!
