Leeds Momentum Meeting To Defend Jeremy Corbyn Democratically Elected Leader Tuesday 28th

The Brexit aftermath and Corbyn coup – discussing how we can defend Jeremy Corbyn, and protect labour and migrant rights in the Brexit breakup negotiations.
Momentum Leeds on Tuesday 28th June at Leeds Civic Hall, Calverley St, Leeds LS1 1UR where we will be, from 7 pm
Jeremy Corbyn.jpgLeeds Momentum’s discussion of the Brexit aftermath has taken on a new urgent twist, with the coup attempt led by local MP Hillary Benn against Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership.  We will also be organising practical steps against the coup and racism. The coup is not just an attack on Corbyn but on the membership and party democracy, since Corbyn’s support among the rank and file is higher than ever. As local MP Richard Burgon has put it: “The truth is, there are some MPs who either want to install a new leader without a leadership election or get a new leader through a Leadership Election in which Jeremy is prevented from taking part.” It’s up to us, the ordinary members inspired by the possibilities of a new anti-austerity leadership to act now.
